Welcome to Room 105!
I am thrilled to have your child in my first grade class this year and look forward to a wonderful year of learning. First graders acquire knowledge at such a rapid rate and their skills develop by leaps and bounds. Thank you for entrusting your child to me as we embark on a full-filled, learning adventure.
This is my fifth year to teach first grade. I find great joy in seeing a first grader’s growth from the beginning of the year to the end. I have been with PISD for eight years, those years being split with a 10-year hiatus as I was home raising our children. a 7th grader and 9th grader. We own two cats, Tigger and Shadow, and a dog named Dazzle. Beyond the classroom, I enjoy family, friends and any outside activity, especially gardening.
It is a privilege to be a part of PISD. Each child and “their future” continues to be our focus as we begin the 2011-2012 year. Our goal is for each child to reach his/her fullest potential. To accomplish this, we enter a three-way relationship this year, teacher, parents and child, as we discover what works best to help your child meet this goal. I delight in finding the greatest avenue to achieve this.
Please contact me without hesitation if there are questions or concerns. I check email (mimi.winkler@pflugervilleisd.net) during my conference time, before and after school, and voice mail (594-4200 ext. 47061) generally at the end of the day. I look forward to getting to know each of you as the year unfolds. Once again, welcome to Timmerman and the first grade class of 2012!
