Course Objective

Chemistry is a comprehensive course involving the study of the properties of matter including the structure of atoms and their relationships to each other. Emphasis is placed on a problem-solving approach. Topics for study include atomic structure, chemical bonding, formula and equation writing, gas laws, acids, bases and solutions. Laboratory exercises are provided to familiarize students with safety and basic principles of lab usage.

Grading

All grades average equally and NO LATE WORK WILL BE ACCEPTED!
Homework (vocabulary, questions, problems)
Notebook (notes, including bell work and homework not taken up)

Labs (data, questions) Missed labs are to be made up in the lab within 5 days of the absence OR complete an alternate assignment

Bellwork

Current EventĀ 

Extra
points can be earned by putting homework problems on the board or
answering bonus questions correctly. These points can be applied to ANY
grade.

Excused Make-up Work

Students have the number of days missed to make-up work. Any assignments not completed will turn into zeroes. Make-up work can be completed before or after school, during lunch or study hall. No make-up work is accepted for an UNEXCUSED ABSENCE.

EXTRA HELP: I will be available to provide extra help after school on Tuesday, Wednesday or Thursday afternoons.
