Dear Parents,
It's hard to believe that the 2010-2011 school year is coming to an end. I am already looking around my classroom at all the familiar faces thinking of how much they will be missed! My students and I have shared countless hours together learning, discussing, laughing, debating, and at times, disagreeing! As you know, it isn't that uncommon for a thirteen or fourteen year old to wake up on the wrong side of the bed! What memories I will cherish!
My 8th graders hold a special place in my heart and I am so proud to see them preparing to take that big leap into high school. With that said, I am saying goodbye to DMS after four amazing years. I will be teaching history at Kelly Lane Middle School next year. It is a bittersweet departure. Although I look forward to the new adventure that lies ahead, I can't help but think that DMS is my home and the staff and students, family.
I want to thank you for your support throughout this school year and for supporting your child and their education. With your guidance, patience, love, and dedication, your child will continue to grow to new heights. Each and every one of my students can and will succeed as long as they believe in themselves and have someone to believe in them. I look forward to what the future holds and anticipate great things for my DMS kids.
Again, thank you. Warmest wishes. Much appreciation.
Yours In Learning,
Audrey Shaver-Welborn
