MCHS Bowling Team Fees

All athletes at MCHS are required to pay a one time athletic fee of $75. This covers all sports played the 2006-2007 school year. This fee must be paid in full before matches begin.

The $25 fee for an athletic pass will be put towards your $75 fee. When purchasing a pass, be sure to let them know you are an athlete and get a receipt!! The athletic pass will get you into all other home games free.

Members of the MCHS Bowling team will be required to purchase a team jersey. The cost will be less than $20. The shirt is yours to keep. If you are a returning player, you will not have to buy a new jersey. You will have to pay for new embroidery (MCHS on front of shirt). TSSAA requires you to be in uniform to bowl.

The bowling team will have fundraisers to offset these costs. It is our hope that enough money will be raised to cover all fees and uniforms. Any excess money will be used to pay for team equipment.

Guidelines and Expectations

Practice:

1) There will be a minimum of two practices per week.
2) Practices will be at the Bartlett Lanes on Stage Blvd.
3) Students are responsible for their own transportation to and from practices.
4) Practices will be from 3:30-5:00.
5) Students are expected to arrive on time for practice and to stay the entire time.  (A coach must approve any excuses beforehand.)
6) Only two practices for the entire season may be missed before student will be placed on an inactive status.
7) Students' entire focus should be on practice and not on anything else.  Purchasing food and using cell phones will not be allowed during the 1 1/2 hour practice time.  If you want to eat, arrive before practice begins.
8) The only people allowed on the approach and in the surrounding area will be active team members and coaches.  Team members on inactive status, parents, family, and friends must stay in the seating area for spectators and should not disturb the players.

Codes of Conduct:

1) All school rules will apply during practices and matches.
2) Progress reports will be reviewed before matches. Bowlers must be passing all classes to bowl!
3) Respect for the coaches, team members, and members of other teams is a must.  Violators will be given a warning.  Further violations will result in the player being placed on inactive status.
4) Proper uniforms must be worn for the matches.  The uniform will be the bowling jersey and khaki pants or shorts. Hats and sunglasses are not allowed during the matches.  Violators will be warned and may result in the player being placed on inactive status.
5) If the codes of conduct or rules aren't followed, the player will receive a WARNING.  If the rules are violated again, the player will sit out one complete match.  If the rules are violated a third time, the player will be put off of the team.

Matches:

1) Most matches occur directly after school, so players will be released early from school in order to make the match on time.
2) Players are responsible for securing their own rides to the match.
3) Players are expected to be at the match at least 10 minutes before practice begins (i.e.  if the match begins at 3:00, the practice will start at about 2:45, players should be at the bowling center by 2:35.)  This gives the coaches the opportunity to set up their rosters.  If you are late, you may not play!
4) All players are expected to be at the match whether you are playing or not.
5) All players are expected to stay until the end of the match and cheer on their teammates.
6) During the match, if a player curses, throws something down, or kicks in anger the player is ejected from the match and team must take zeros for the rest of that game.
