OVERVIEW OF COURSE

This is an entry-level keyboarding and document layout course designed to prepare students for the world of work.

The student will:

  • Identify steps in word processing.
  • Research and apply knowledge of ethical and legal issues within industry.
  • Apply touch system to develop speed and reduce errors.
  • Research and apply necessary editorial skills to prepare multimedia project.
  • Perform beginning and advanced formatting skills.
  • Develop and demonstrated human relations, business etiquette,   self-management, organizational and professional leadership skills.

TEACHER'S RULES AND EXPECTATIONS

All Business Technology students are expected to:

  1. Attend school daily -100 bonus points every Friday.
  2. MAKE UP WORK - after school Tuesday and Thursday 2:10 - 3:30 p.m.
  3. Practice safety in using all equipment
  4. Respect and maintain a positive office environment
  5. Complete work as indicated on Daily Task Logs
  6. Attend FBLA monthly club meetings
  7. Purchase needed supplies/Keep and use Agenda book at all times
  8. Develop high self-esteem
  9. Develop leadership and teamwork skills
  10. Dress "Professionally" at each club meeting - 200 bonus points
