COURSE OVERVIEW

WELCOME

This course is designed for junior-level students as they prepare for careers in a variety of specialized areas.  The student will:

  • Describe and emerge information systems, including communication and networking systems.
  • Research, key, layout, design, and composen concepts and guidelines for document preparation.
  • Maintain various records management systems
  • Effectively use resources that support work activities, time management, workstation components and safety in the work environment.
  • Apply decision making, critical thinking, and teamwork skills.
  • Develop and demonstrate human relations, business etiquette, self management and professional leadership skills.
  • Perform simulated model office duties by serving as a "Buyer."

TEACHER'S RULES AND EXPECTATIONS


All Business Technology Students are to:

  • Attend school daily - 100 bonus points every Friday
  • Make up work  - Tuesday and Thursday after school
  • Respect each other and maintain an office environment
  • Practice safety habits at all times
  • Complete Task Logs as indicated
  • Attend FBLA monthly club meetings
  • Dress Professionally at monthly club meetings
  • Develop leadership and teamwork skills
  • Demonstrated office skills and procedures in the simulated model office

CLASSROOM PROCEDURE

Students are to:

  • Sign in on Daily Time Sheet
  • Utilized personal folder in file cabinet
  • Orgainze IN/OUT trays
  • Practice proper telephone techniques
  • Prioritize work
  • Practice good work ethics
