  2. Check out a book from the Cybrary or public library on your favorite artist.   Bring book to class.
  3. Find, read and summarize a critical review on your artist's work.   Be sure to find commentary on at least 1 of your 4 favorite works of art.   This can be from the book.
  4. Do research on a deceased(dead) family member. 
    1. Interview other family members. 
    2. Find out their date of birth,
    3. get a picture of that deceased relative
    4. where they lived,
    5. their jobs,
    6. their likes and
    7. dislikes,
    8. a description of their physical appearance and
    9. personality. 
    10. Find out funny stories about them-nothing about their death.

  2. collect 8 pictures  to match the stem-changing verbs we discussed.  Choose a different stem-changing verb for each of the 8 frequency words.  We're making a collage, so have fun.  Make sure that these can fit in an 8 1/2 x 11 sheet.  Bring these Thursday.

Have your parents write a letter to me in which they detail information that I need to know about you as a student, a student learning Spanish, and about you as a person.   Focus on learning strengths and areas for improvement, and vocational/career goals.   You too, write a note to me to give information about yourself that I'll need to know for you to succeed in Spanish. Write this on the back of your contract sign sheet.
  3. bilingual list from "sueter" to "pequeno"  Complete column 2.  On column 3-write down ways to remember the Spanish word's definition by word association, word family, root, cognate, etc....  On column 4- fold back column 1 and with pencil quiz yourself on column 4.   Correct and highligt those corrections.  Download pp. from the website here under "files"-Sorry, you may download by Friday.

  1. read pp. 1-25 to review for your diagnostic test on Thursday.
  2. complete your bilingual list from "hola" to "les gusta".   Cover the 1st column and write in pencil the Spanish word.  Correct for spelling, punctuation and accent marks.
  3. dress in dress code for Thursday's fashion show.  We'll do the writing and rehearsal in class, but get a head start.  This will be your 1st speaking test.  You'll have to memorize describing yourself: personality, physically, clothing items, and color.
  4. Register at www.studyspanish.com - be sure to confirm your registration promptly.  Write down your login and password.  You may change your password to something you can easily remember.   Don't forget your login and password.
