- So sorry for not posting anything! We have all been so busy with helping the students prepare for TAKS. I have also got behind on positing grades because of this! I finally was able to put a few things up. We have several ongoing projects which await the students completion (and which had to be delayed in completing due to TAKS testing and now Science Camp!), so I will try and get the rest of the grades posted by the end of next week.
I have not assigned any homework this week due to TAKS testing, but well will resume with regular homework next week. I had promised the students that if they passed their TAKS tests they would not get homework in that subject area. Please let me know if you still would like me to assign homework. - Please help your children study science. The regulations of the TAKS prevent the teachers from discussing the test with the students. So please talk to your children about how they THINK they may have done. The school of course will provide support for those students who did not meet the standards on this first round of testing as soon as wee get the results (in approximately 21 day).

I would like the students to INTENSLY look through the work and figure out what things they know, what they just guessed at because maybe they didn't want to do the work, and which things they really don't know. They need to COME BACK ON MONDAY WITH A LIST OF QUESTIONS they have to help them student and prepare for the TAKS test. Students should be reviewing and studying every night. Not just skimming and turning pages, but making questions, having someone ask them questions, making notes, making vocabulary cards, and what other strategies they need to help them really learn the material that has been given to them.
