Terese Marsland

Bio

My name is Terese Marsland and I am presently serving as a 7th Grade Science teacher here at Bayou View Middle School.  I have thoroughly enjoyed my teaching
experiences, which, coincidentally, started rather late in my professional career.
I made the decision to teach almost eight years ago, gaining my license through the
approved alternate route for educators.  I have taught both domestically and abroad
and have tried to incorporate those experiences into my teaching methodology and
daily approach to reaching my students.  Having spent time in both the Caribbean and the Middle East, I can tell you we should truly value the public education system
available to all of us in the United States.  I am blessed to have two wonderful
sons and have enjoyed sixteen years of marriage.  I have traveled all across the US
supporting my husband's military career as an Airborne US Army NCO, and have
traveled the globe extensively when we made the decision to begin international
development.  I am very happy to have returned home to the MS Gulf Coast after
losing everything we owned to Hurricane Katrina.  This year marks my fourth year at Bayou View Middle School and I will continue to strive to bring diversity and excellence to my students.
