Religion
The 8th grade curriculum covers Church History, Morality, Family Life, and Confirmation. Family Life and Morality dovetail each other.
Students are expected to read the assigned religion pages to be fully prepared for class participation. Chapter tests will be determined as we work with the material.
We have started Church History and are learning about why learning history is valuable. Also, the students will be responsible for reading the material each night and taking notes on what they read. The next day they may have a quiz on what they read. I am trying to also teach good note taking skills to prepare them for when they enter high school.
We have begun taking notes and going over proper note-taking and understanding what we are reading. Make sure your child is taking brief notes on what is assigned.
Father Roque will be coming in on Tuesdays to teach Morality to the 8th grade.
The students should be practicing their note taking skills while reading the assigned work for Church History. Please ask to see their notes to keep them on task.
We will start Family Life on Monday April 16th.
