Literature
The students will be working with a new Literature book. The series is Prentice Hall Literature, Language and Literacy. I am looking forward to it and I hope the students will enjoy literature this year. The series includes a text book, notebook, and many online activities.
We have listened to our first fiction story and the students will be reading it independently and answering questions. We will be reading the story more than once to get a deeper understanding of what we read. We are reading fiction and nonfiction and learning about theme.
We will start our new unit (short stories) Monday November 28th. READ! READ! READ!
The students should be rereading the story and listening to it on the Pearson web site. If they are not please remind them to do this.
We are evaluating advertisements and will be writing our own persuasive ad this week.
For our last story the students were divided into two groups. If you see an entry in powerschool that does not have a grade for your child they were in the other group and should have a grade for the other story. If you have any questions let me know.
We will begin our next unit in Literature - Types of Nonfiction.
