Grammar, Writing, Poetry, Proofreading, Letter writing, and a Research paper make up the 8th grade English course.
This year our English is going to correlate with our Literature. The students will not have a specific English textbook and workbook. However, we will be using the previous English textbooks as a reference along with our new Literature series.
On Monday we will be discussing what the criteria is for a well-written research paper. We will begin to discuss topics and the students will be asked midweek to start thinking of a topic.
The students need to have a topic chosen and books on Tuesday February 21st. We will begin setting up our notecards and taking notes on our topic. We will begin doing this in class but as they understand what to do they will work on it for homework. Please ask them about their topic.
The students created a Power Point Presentation based on their research project. They did a nice job presenting their projects.
