Hello and welcome to my class web site.  I am
  Terrence L. Brown and I have been teaching at
  Ransom Middle School since 1999.  I currently  
  teach 8th Grade Social Studies (U.S. History),
  but I have also taught Civics, Language Arts,
  and Reading.

Prior to becoming a teacher I served 23 years, four days (but who counts) on active duty with the U.S. Air Force.  I was assigned to exoctic locations such as Misawa, Japan, San Vito dei Normanni, Italy, Fort Meade, Maryland, and Kelly AFB, Texas.  I have also had short tours of duty in South Korea, Scotland, and Berlin, Germany (before the wall came down).  I really enjoyed being in the military and had the opportunity to travel and experience a great variety of adventures.

While I was in the Air Force I attended a number of colleges and universities.  I received an Associates of Arts, Business Management degree from Los Angeles Community College and an Associates of Science, Communications Technology degree from the Community College of the Air Force.  I attended the University of West Florida where I received my Bachelor of Arts in Secondary Education and my Masters of Education (MEd).

Believe it or not, I really enjoy being a teacher and I challenge my students to be as enthusiastic about learning as I am about helping them.
