All students are expected to adhere to the following classroom policies:
1. Be in class on time and be ready to learn.
2. Have all appropriate materials. These include paper, a writing
instrument, and positive attitude.
3. All assigned work should be completed and turned in when it is due.
Late work will not be accepted.
4. Eating, drinking, and chewing gum is not permitted in class.
5. Personal grooming such as applying make-up, combing or brushing hair,
and the use of perfumes should be done prior to class.
6. Display courtesy at all times! Respect for one another and each other's
opinions is critical and necessary for success.
MAJOR AREAS OF STUDY:
We will be spending a significant amount of time studying the following
areas during the upcoming school year:
1. Early U.S. History
2. United States Constitution
3. The Bill of Rights
4. Civic Rights and Responsibilities
GRADING CRITERIA:
1. Student grades are based on the amount of work the student
completes --- complete work = full credit.
2. Students should try to provide as much detail in their responses as
possible.
3. Sentence structure and spelling are factors used in evaluating the
students' work.
The following grading scale will be used (IAW Florida Law):
A = 90 to 100
B = 80 to 89
C = 70 to 79
D = 60 to 69
F = 59 and below
