Discovery Education video- Teen Files, The Truth About Body Image. Teens are faced with many pressures regarding body image, such as the muscle men and waifish women featured in ads and magazines. This program shows how popular ideas of "beauty" damage teens physically andpsychologically.
Homework:
Choose a type of media (magazine, newspaper, or advertisement) to show how the media tries to sell their products using images of men or women.. Due Friday. You will present your findings to the class in a presentation using poster or smartboard.

1. Collect Parent letter (flour baby grade given by the parent) and journal writing for last week's HGD unit. Worth 2 grades.
2. Tobacco Pre- Survey. Mrs. Garcia, our Trust Counselor will have a presentation about the dangers of smoking tobacco and marijuana. Today,you will start with a pre-survey consisting of 15 questions which you will write the answer to on a separate sheet of paper to be turned in to Ms. Garcia.
3. Continue our lesson on Nutrition- Video " Super Size Me!. Students will watch the video about a filmaker Morgan Spurlock who went on a quest to expose the obesity problem facing America and show how fast food restaurants have played their part in this epidemic.
