St Peter Lorain CYO Sports

                                                             Your Role
The role of the coach begins by helping young people grow and develop from an inexperienced athlete into tomorrow’s leaders. You accomplish this by modeling Christ-like behaviors as you share experiences with your athletes, patiently teaching skills to all levels of athletes, and treating players with Dignity. Your coaching style, philosophy and personal qualities are instrumental toward helping young people be more Christ-like in they way they live. Your positive guidance can make a difference in their lives. Families entrust you with their child’s care.

1. All coaches must be CYO certified through the coaches development course.

2. All coaches must be Virtus trained.

3. Coaches must manage their team communication as best as possible with the parents directly regarding, registration forms, physical forms, fee's, practice times, game schedules, and end of the year team party.

4. Each team is allowed to enter one tournament paid for by the Athletic Associaton, and upto $150.00.  All other tournaments entered into are the responsibilty of the coach and parents.

5. Coaches must communicate with paretns regarding end of season team parties.  Cost of these parties is to be provided by parents and or coaches.

6. Only CYO board approved facilities will be used for practices outside our own facility.

7. Coaches are responsible for the facilites they use regarding cleanup and proper athlete behavior in the hallways.

8. Coaches must ensure that each athlete arrives and leaves practices and games safely with their guardians.
