O.R.E.O. Project (Our Really Exciting Online Project)

Back by Popular Demand!

Our class will compete with classrooms across the USA to see who can make the tallest stack of cookies (more details to follow).  Along with this fun and friendly competition, we will complete various activities and integration using Oreo cookies while also practice the following curriculum skills:

MATH: analyzing and composing a data table and graph, multiplication and division, decoding word problems, permutations and combinations, algebraic patterns, problem solving

READING: non-fiction text structures, reading comprehension, making predictions and connections, alphabetical order

WRITING: friendly letters

SOCIAL STUDIES/SCIENCE: history of Oreos, moon phases

.... and more!

Oh, I can't forget to mention the sweet rewards of tasting a variety of the newest and favorite Oreo flavors!

This project has become an activity that students look forward to each week, an event that we've called "Fun Friday." It is also an effective motivating factor for positive behaviors during the school day each week.

Want to contribute? An easy way to contribute to this popular and yummy project is to donate 3 packs of Oreos (one pack of 3 different flavors) and a half-gallon of milk by Friday of each week. If you're interested in contributing, simply send me an email (ssmith16@wcpss.net) and I will let you know which week that you may donate.
