Animales, animales, animales

Dear Holy Cross Spanish K-3 Families,

The students amazed me with how prepared they were to resettle into their routine after having missed two weeks of Spanish!  Students in K-2 learned animal words which include the following:

el gato - cat

el perro - dog

el pez - fish

el pez dorado - goldfish

la culebra - snake

el caballo - horse

la vaca - cow

la abeja - bee

la mariposa - butterfly

el pato - duck

el ganso - goose

la oveja - sheep

el gallo - rooster

el oso - bear

la rana - frog

la tortuga - tortoise

el hámster - hamster

los ratones - mice

los pájaros - birds

el cerdo - pig

Please feel free to review words with your child.  Making flash cards for review generally works very well.

Spanish 3 students worked on reviewing family relationships and translating sentences from Spanish to English.  In addition, Spanish 3 students were granted an extension on the Mi familia assignment.  It is now due on Wednesday, March 3rd.  Rubrics will go home with students this week.

All students should continue to work on the Glory Be and Hail Mary from now through the end of the school year.  Spanish 3 students especially should work on these because they will be moving on to also learning the Our Father during the final quarter.  Feel free to contact me at Holy Cross on Wednesdays or by e-mail at tlewis@holycrossweb.com should you ever have questions or concerns.

I welcome communications from you at any time and look forward to continuing to work with your child throughout the remainder of the school year.  I am blessed to have such loving students in all grades that are well-disciplined and always eager to learn.  Have a wonderful week!

Sincerely,

Sra. Lewis
