Career Development
This week you will take the first step in choosing a career – self assessment. The more you know about yourself the easier it will be to choose a satisfying career. Go to the following websites to take the tests. Please read and understand each question before choosing an answer to be sure your have accurate results. If you don’t understand a word or phrase either look it up or ask three before me. Document your results and journal your thoughts on what you learn.
1. www.howtolearn.com Learning Styles Inventory (research your learning style and create a very neat graphic organizer that would help you (and others) to better understand your learning style)
2. www.bridges.com Create a portfolio and do the following assessments - Interest Inventory, Values Inventory, Abilities Inventory (you can also use this site to research schools, etc)
3. www.humanmetrics.com Jung Typology Test – this is a Myers-Briggs Personality Test. After getting your results click on the links to learn more about understanding the strengths of your personality and to get tips on improving relationships and study skills! You can also see which famous people in history have your personality! (You can also double check your Myers-Briggs Personality by answering the questions on www.41q.com - another good site for understanding your personality) Create another graphic organizer illustrating your Myers-Briggs Personality Type and careers it leads you to.
ID: engrade-sandyprestage-######### This number has been given to each student to use when setting up his/her account access. All teachers are required to use Engrade this year, so your teachers should give each student an access code for that particular class.

Admission Requirements: Students are accepted into Marketing I based on completion of an application which includes teacher recommendations and an evaluation of the student's attendance and discipline records.
Required Materials:
Students should have a 1" binder
Loose leaf paper
Pens/Pencils
Flash Drive (optional)
Notes for most units will be given through PowerPoint presentations. Students are required to complete student guided notes and keep up with them throughout the semester. Many projects/assignments will require computer/internet, much of which will be done at school, but access at home will be important; if this poses a problem please call.
