What do I need to participate?

P.E. Locks and Lockers
Each student will be assigned a locker and a lock to use during the year. It is your responsibility to place your combination sticker in your agenda. Keep your clothes and personal hygiene items in the assigned locker for class. We will not allow students to return to their hall lockers for uniforms.
P.E. Uniforms
All students need to purchase a P.E. uniform to wear in class. Uniforms cost $14.00. All shorts and shirts need to have your name on them. September 3rd is the deadline for having a school P.E. uniform. Until then, you may wear apropriate shorts and shirts during class. (No sleevless t-shirts. Inseam of shorts must allow for bending during warmups.)
If a student does not dress out, they will loose 1 point of their grade. After 2 "no dresses", the student will sit out and complete writing assignments given by the teachers.
Items to keep in your P.E. Locker
- P.E. uniforms clearly labeled.
- Deoderant
- Lotion if you need it
- All school items locked in your locker during class.
- A bag to keep your clothes safe in your locker.
Items to bring to class daily
- Uniform, deoderant if it is your first day of P.E for the week.
- A pencil.
- Your agenda. (We will be using agendas in class and will give points and shields when you bring them to class.)
- A great attitude.

Grades
Grades are earned, not given
The grades you earn in P.E. count for the Honor Roll each quarter. Since you are not with us daily, it is important that you participate each time in class.
You earn grades on the following items each time you are in class:
-
Entrance to and exit from the gym. Please enter and leave in a mature manner by following the school-wide expectations.
-
Dressing out.
-
Participating in all warm-ups .
-
Participating fully in class with a positive attitude towards yourself and others.
-
Good sportsmanship in class.
-
Safe behavior in class and in the locker room.
P.E. activities for the year
Physical health is important to all aspects of our lives. When we are physically healthy, we strengthen our emotional, social, and mental health too.
The curriculum in PE class is meant to give you a variety of experiences for lifelong wellness. You may not love everything we do, but we ask that you give it a try. You may surprise yourself!
Our goal is to provide a safe, fun setting where students can be involved in activities to help students become healthy young adults.
