Homework

Welcome to the 2007-2008 school year. We are excited to get to know each student and their families during the coming weeks. Feel free to check this website weekly for classroom updates and important information.

Homework Folders

Homework folders were sent home on Friday, August 24th. Each Friday, students will bring home their folder and return it the following Friday. The folder should include:

  1. The current week's spelling words and worksheet
  2. 1 Language Arts worksheet
  3. 1 Math worksheet
  4. 1 book and Home Reading Log (please keep this sheet until four books have been read).

A special Stephen Foster Parent Communication Folder will go home with completed work, tests, grade reporting, school and class information each Monday. Please look over the contents of this folder and allow your child to return the empty folder the next day. If you have any questions or concerns, please feel free to include a note.

Remember, Parents + Students + Teachers = A Winning Team

 CHANGE IN HOMEWORK PLAN

As directed by the school administration, your child will no longer be bringing home a weekly fluency reading sheet each week. In its place, your child will be tested on fluency in class using stories from the reading book that they practice in class.

SPELLING SENTENCES FOR HOMEWORK

Writing sentences with the weekly spelling words will continue to be a regular part of your child's homework plan. If your child has not been writing sentences each week, please help them to begin this week!

Writing sentences is a part of their spelling grade and will help them to make the words a part of their everyday vocabulary. They need to attempt to make their sentences varied and interesting.
