Roll Call-Students will be given assigned seating.

Health Activity-  What is Physical Education?  Why do we need Physical Education?  Who needs Physical Education?

Teamwork-Students will join together to make a circle, square and triangle.

Stretch-Students will learn stretching exercises.

Exercise-Students will learn exercises.

Form Running-Students will be taught various kinds of form running.

Skill-Students will learn classroom rules and safety rules.  Students will be shown where to go in case of a fire or tornado.

Cool Down-students will take this time to cool down, get water and take a restroom break.

Roll Call-Students will go to their color cone for roll call.

Health-Unit 1-Safety-Students will learn Safety and Injury Prevention. 

Week 1-School Safety-Students will learn policies and guidelines for school safety.  Students will be taught the proper procedures for:  Fire Drill, Fire Safety, Bad Weather Drill, Bad Weather Safety, Intruder Drill and Intruder Safety.

Week 2-Bike Safety-Students will be taught bicycle rules and will be taught how to become safe bicycle riders.

Week 3-Water /Sun Safety-Students will be taught basic safety guidelines regarding swimming and boating.  Students will also learn about the dangers of the sun.

Week 4-Motor Vehicle/Bus safety-Students will be taught the importance of safety in a car and on the bus>

Week 5-Fire Safety-Students will be taught skills related to fire safety.

Week 6-Violence Prevenion and Conflict Resolution-Students will be taught the skills to avoid conflict.

Week 7-First Aid-Students will be taught the basics of first aid.

Week 8-Stranger Danger-Students will be taught the importance of talking to strangers.

Week 9-Personal Hygene-Teacher will instruct students on the importance of taking care of themselves.  Dental health, skin care, washing hands and hair care.

Teamwork-Students will work together each week to form either a triangle, square or a circle.

Stretch-Students will stretch using stretching exercises previously learned.

Exercise-Students will exercise.

Form running-Students will participate in various form running exercises. 

Skill-Students will learn various skills.

Week 1-Students will be taught how to LEAP.

Week 2-Students will be taught the proper way to RUN.

                                        OBJECTIVE:  TO RUN THE FASTEST, MOST EFFICIENT WAY TO THE GOAL.

                                    Students will race, relays and cone relays using the techniques taught for running.      (Sept. 13-Oct. 1)   Students will run long distance relays using the baton.   (Oct. 4-8)

Week 3-Students will be taught BALANCE.

Week 4-Students will be taught AGILITY.

Week 5-Students will be taught how to use their POWER.

Week 6-Students will be taught SPEED.

Week 7-Students will be taught COORDINATION.

Week 8-Students will be taught how to JUMP using thier STRENGTH and COORDINATION.

Week 9-Students will be taught FLEXIBILITY.

Cool Down-Students will take this time to cool down, get water and go to the restroom.

Activity-Students will be taught long distance running.  Students will learn to PACE themselves during a long distance run.  Students will run 4 times around the cones set outside on the playground.

Form Running-Form Running exercises on board in gym.

Activity-Students will be taught how to play the Polygram game in the gym.  Students will have 5 areas to run to as quietly as possible, while the "it"  person hids his/her eyes.  When the "it" person says, "stop"  then "freeze,"  students must stop on the polygram they are closest to.  With the "its" eyes still closed they pick an area that is the loudest.  If picked, they have to sit out until the nest round.  This continues until only one student is standing.  Then they become the "it."  The 5 areas are:  triangle, square, pentagon, hexagon, and an octagon.
