Welcome!!!
Dear Parents,
My name is Stacy Hughes and I will be teaching your child science this year at Brighton Middle School. I look forward to getting to know your child and having a wonderful school year. If you ever have any questions or concerns yourself, please feel free to contact me. I will be more than willing to help! Please check out my website www.schoolrack.com/shughes it will list all classwork, homework, and test dates!

Science Supplies
Each child will need a colored folder that they will use specifically for my class. A personal set of colored pencils is required in the materials list for the seventh grade and will be needed for my class. Students will only be permitted to use blue or black ink if they choose to use a pen but pencil is preferred. Loose-leaf paper will also be needed.
Grading Policy
My grading policy is very simple. Most homework will be started in class, what the student doesn’t complete becomes homework. I will give all test dates on the day we start a chapter.
All daily work (classwork, homework, and quizzes) count once and all tests count twice.
Lab Fees
Science teachers collect a $2.00 lab fee from each child the first week of school that will cover supplies and materials that we will need to perform labs throughout the year. These are included with the registration fees.
Thank you for your assistance,
Stacy Hughes
