Week of Aug. 8-12
Monday- First day of School!!!!! Get a good night's sleep and be ready to go!
Tuesday-Alg. I: Skills pre-test at beginning of book (do odds without calculators) Pre-algebra started to do State Academic Vocabulary, but have no homework.
Wednesday- Alg. I: We went over half of homework, so tonight fix anything that you know you had problems with. Again, work without calculators. Pre-algebra: We worked on SPI -0806.4.3 ( Finding angles when 2 parallel lines are cut by a transversal) They took notes and had a drawing to answer questions.
Thursday- Alg. I: We finished going over the pre-test. They have a quiz tomorrow. Do page 5 (first column of problems) Pre-algebra: They had a graded assignment over yesterdays lesson after we went over the skill and the homework that went with the skill. Do 1-10 on page 4.( They got books today.)
Friday-Enjoy the weekend!
Week of August 15-19
Monday: Algebra I - Read chapter 1, lesson 2 and put "Key Concept" into notes. Do all "Guided Practice" with each example. Pre-algebra - Read chapter one, lesson one and do 12-30 even on page 7. Show work.
Tuesday: Algebra I - pages 10-11 (4-32 even) Pre-algebra - Read pp. 10-11 and Do 2-32 even (starts on page 12)
Wednesday: Algebra I - in workbook, do lesson 1.1 (odds and lesson 1.2 ( 1-12) Pre-algebra - In workbook, do all of lesson 1.1 Please check that your child is organized and has a folder to keep his homework together and out of his/her book.
Thursday: Algebra I - In workbook, lesson 1.2 (13-end) and in book, p. 18 (3-12) Pre-algebra - Page 9 (57-67) and workbook 1.2 (Do all)
Friday: Board Quiz for all (This is over the board problems given to them each day this week plus skills worked on since the beginning of the year.) Algebra I - They are having a graded assignment over basic math without a calculator.
Week of August 22-26
Monday: Algebra I - graded assignment on basic math skills (adding, subtracting, multiplying, and dividing of rational numbers) Homework is on page 67-68. Do 5-13 (all), 24, 17, 20, 23-34 (all), and 42-45. Pre-algebra - We reviewed "Order of Operation" and their homework is to do 11-27 (odds) on page 19. SHOW WORK.....that is the homework!
Tuesday: Algebra I - State academic vocabulary words are due. Homework is to do pages 77-78 (4-46 even) Pre-algebra - Chapter one vocabulary from page 52 is due tomorrow. 3rd period is also to have page 750 (1-16)
Wednesday: Algebra I - Homework is to put the key concept boxes from chapter 2 into your notes(starting on page 75) Pre-algebra - They have 24 "adding integers" problems.Chapter 1 vocabulary is due for pre-algebra today.
Thursday: Algebra I - vocabulary are due and so are the Key Concept notes. Quiz today. Pre-algebra - 3rd period (wb 1.5 even; 1.6 rewrite the top group into add problems) 5th and 6th period (in book, 12-33 on page 36 Just rewrite into add problems.)
Friday: No homework. Have a calculator next week, because we will start using them part of the time!
Week of August 29-Sept. 2
Monday: Algebra I - Properties Quiz tomorrow over addition and multiplication properties. Do p. 93, mixed practice. Show work Pre-algebra - Do workbook page for lesson 1.8 (all) Follow directions.
Tuesday: Algebra I - Page 99 (6-42 even) Pre-algebra - Chapter 1 test tomorrow. Do page 56 (evens) to prepare.
Wednesday: Algebra I - workbook, lesson 2.5 (all) Pre-algebra - Chapter 2 vocabulary (13 definitions)
Thursday: Algebra I - page 106 (4-50 even) Pre-algebra - Do the worksheet on central tendencies (1-8)
Week of Sept. 5-9
Monday: Holiday
Tuesday: Algebra I - They have 15 problems they copied from the overhead to review lesson 2.5. Pre-algebra - p. 76 12-27 even; 28-35 all
Wednesday: Algebra I - review chapter 2 (Test Friday) Redo of assignment from 2.5 to be given tomorrow. Pre-algebra - Read pages 91 and 92. On 93, do 11-25 (all).
Thursday: Algebra: pages 121-124, do 1-6, 7-12, 36=42, 50-60. Chapter 2 quiz Friday. Pre-algebra: 3rd period- lesson 2.5 in workbook. Do even Show work. 5th and 6th period have notes from chapter 2 due today.
Friday: Chapter 2 notes due for periods 5 and 6.
Week of Sept. 12-16
Monday: Algebra I - Do pages l37-139, 4-58 evens. Pre-algebra - 3rd period: Finish copying notes from chapter 2. 5th period: Do page 99, 8-23 all (Show work.) 6th period: Do page 99, 8-23 all (Show work) and add notes on page 72 into composition book.
Tuesday: Algebra I - Do pages l14-5, 4-40 even. Show work. Pre-algebra - 3rd period should have workbook page for 2.5 lesson (all) finished. 5th and 6th periods should do p. 123, 8-22 even. Show work. Graded assignment for all tomorrow over solving equations.
Wednesday: Algebra I - Do pages 150-151, 4-36 even. Pre-algebra - Do page 112 (all). They all had a graded assignment today on solving equations.
Thursday: Algebra I has a worksheet on solving equations for homework. Pre-algebra has a worksheet on combining like terms and solving one step equations for homework.
Week of Sept 19-23
Monday: Alg I - On page 158, do first column 30-47 and page 165-166, do 24-44 even. Pre-algebra - There is no homework.
Tuesday: Algebra I - on page 171, 20-30 even. Graded assignment will be done tomorrow. Pre-algebra - Only one class met. No homework.
Wednesday: Algebra I - On page 179, do all of the evens Pre-algebra - 3rd period is to practice using calculators to change numbers back and forth from scientific notation to standard form. 5th and 6th period learned about multiplying with exponents (ch. 4-6 in PA book)
Thursday: TUTORING HAS BEEN CANCELLED FOR TODAY. A LAST MINUTE MEETING BY MY PRINCIPAL WAS CALLED FOR THIS AFTERNOON. Alg I -page 180-181, do evens Pre-alg. - 3rd period-Do workbook, lesson 4.5 5th period, do page 202 (5-16) 6th period, do pages 201-202 (1-16)
Week of Sept. 26-30
Monday: We reviewed before Thinklink test is given this week. Alg I - Do page 202 (cumulative test) due Wednesday. Pre-alg. - Do page 210B 1-11.
Tuesday: Thinklink (TCAP) for all.
Wednesday: Alg. I - Thinklink (EOC)
Week of Oct. 3-7
Monday: Alg. I - Do pp. 239-241 (4-38 even) Pre-alg. Study for Board Quiz
Tuesday: Board Quiz for all. Alg. I - page 241, 14-32 (Show work for all) Pre-alg. - Do page 111 (40-47) and p. 118 (all)
Wednesday: Review for Nine weeks test. Pre-algebra - p166-is a cumulative review
Thursday: Nine weeks test for all. This counts double and will replace a lower grade from the nine weeks. Algebra I will have a cumulative chapter 1-3 and board problems for their nine weeks. Pre-algebra will have cumulative chapter 1-midchapter 4 and board problems for their nine weeks test.
Friday: Happy Fall Break!!!
