Classroom Discipline Plan
My Classroom Discipline Plan
IMPORTANT
Classrooms today are very active places. Often many different types of learning occur simultaneously. I will use a variety of teaching methods. The students may also receive instruction from each other as they work in cooperative learning groups.
In order to allow every student to participate effectively, some rules and guidelines need to be set to provide an environment conducive to learning. These expectations give every student the opportunity to manage their behavior.
CLASSROOM EXPECTATIONS
Listen carefully.
Follow Directions.
Work Quietly.
Do not disturb others who are working.
Show respect to others.
Be kind with your words and actions.
Respect school and personal property.
Work and play safely.
To encourage students to follow these expectations, I reward appropriate behavior with:
Verbal praise
Special privileges.
Recess and other whole class rewards.
If a student chooses to break a rule, these are the consequences:
1st consequence—Verbal warning
2nd consequence—Classroom privilege revoked
3rd consequence—Write a letter home and it signed
4th consequence—Phone call home or conference
5th consequence—After or before school detention
I will be keeping record of their behavior throughout the day on a clipboard. (See attached sheet for sample of the chart.) You will be receiving a report each Friday letting you know of the weeks behavior. (Attached as well.) Please ask your child to review this classroom plan with you, and then sign and return the form on the following page. We will also be discussing this in our classroom as well. Thanks for joining our winning home/school team.
