BOOST
Building On Our Skills Together
Our program, BOOST, combines the cornerstone of mentoring with innovative technology, as well as learning to apply critical thinking to current events and real world situations.
The strong community participation that we experience is the key to our mentoring program. This participation provides role models, examples of productive citizens, and individual instruction for each child in the program. Through the combination of innovative instructional strategies and the patience of caring adult mentors, children who have fallen behind have the chance to acquire the skills and knowledge necessary to succeed in a modern economy.
Each student’s learning needs are carefully diagnosed, and the student’s strengths and areas to be developed are noted. An individualized lesson plan is then designed by the BOOST instructors for each student. The plans are placed in easy to use student folders that direct the mentor and student to spend time together.
The average gain of students in the BOOST program will be more than twice the national average. This is only possible with the help of our generous community mentors. Thank you for all that you do!
