to meet this summer!  There is no skill more closely tied to school success than that of reading. 

Summer is a great time to enjoy the fun of reading a good book. You may want to start with these authors and branch out to other books in the young reader section of the library.  Remember it is as important for your child to read as it is for you to read certain books to him/her.  Even chapter books, well above the level they are able to decode, can be read to them for enjoyment, learning, and vocabulary development.
