Upper School Technology Elective Course Description
This class introduces the students to the stock market. They learn what it means to own stock shares and the difference between being a shareholder and someone who places their money in a savings account. The class learns terms that help them understand how to read a stock quote. They "build" their own portfolio and watch the stock values go up and down over a five week period. Each week they report 'recent news" on two of the stocks in their portfolio; this is orally presented.The students also prepare a five (5) page wriiten report on one of the companies in their portfolio, a informational brochure and a PowerPoint presentation. www.the-stockmarket-report.com
