Outside Production Overview and Guidelines
Overview:
Outside production provides the students the opportunity to learn their trade on an actual construction site, working on a customer's job. They will learn about estimating, ordering materials, taking delivery, scheduling inspections, working with other trades ,communicating with the home owner/customer in addition to the hands-on skills of the trade.
Guidelines:
Students on outside production must-
- Wear hard hat at all times
- Wear safety glasses at all times
- Wear work boots at all times
- Wear tool belt at all times
- Dress appropriately for weather conditions
- Follow all shop safety rules
- Inspect all ladders, scaffolding,tools and cords prior to using
- Notify instructor immediately of any safety matters
- Pack a lunch or purchase a bag lunch from cafeteria
- Do a thorough clean up of jobsite daily
