Who is This Bodenhamer Guy?

Welcome to Mr. B's third year at Gulfport High School! I have been teaching for five years overall (one at George County Middle School and two at St. John). Before that I worked as a substitute teacher - mostly here at Gulfport High - while completing the requirements for my teaching license at USM in Hattiesburg.

I graduated from Philadelphia High School in Philadelphia, Mississippi in 1997 and Millsaps College in Jackson in 2001. I have a Bachelor's Degree in History with an emphasis in American Studies and minors in Political Science and English. I have attended AP training through Millsaps College and taken advantage of numerous training opportunities offered by Gulfport School District. I am planning on beginning work on my Master's Degree in 2009.

I am married to Rebecca Reed Bodenhamer who taught at Gulfport High from 2001 through 2006 and we were ecstatic to welcome our first child - a boy - in August of 2008. Other Bodenhamers roaming these halls include my mother, Mary Bodenhamer, who teaches Family & Consumer Science, Child Development and other Health related courses downstairs and my brother Zac who is starting the 9th grade this year.

Aside from History, I am interested in sports (Go Saints/Cubs/Rebels!), literature (Go Emerson/Twain/O'Brien/Morris/Sedaris!), politics (Go Effective Government!) and satire (Go Daily Show/Colbert/SNL/the Onion/Jonathon Swift/Oscar Wilde!). I try to be a well rounded person and throw my self from time to time into a variety of interests that I can't list here.
