Art Class Rules and Consequences of Disobedience

All rules from the Jefferson County Board of Education Code of Conduct apply in this classroom.

Here are some other simplified rules that apply in this classroom as well.

1.  Speak with kindness and respect to your teacher and fellow students; work quietly.

2.  Keep your hands and feet to yourself; work in your area.

3.  Use art materials as you were instructed to use them without horse playing.

4.  Respect the classroom, your artwork and other students' artwork.

5.  Have a pencil every day!

6.  Work every day!

All students who disobey a rule will sign the discipline book.  Any student who signs the book 3 times will be referred to the office.

Art Classroom Procedures

1.  Enter the classroom and sit down.  Always sit down immediately in your assigned seat.  If you are tardy, put your name and date and period in the Tardy Folder by the door.

2.  Check assignment board for the day's activities.

3.  Answer the roll without being asked to be quiet.  Once the tardy bell rings, class has begun.  Ms. Richards does not announce the beginning of class!

4.  Listen to instructions about the day's activities.

5.  Get your supplies and work when asked.

6.  Work at your assigned seat quietly.  Cooperate and share materials with others.

7.  Use the sink, trash cans and pencil sharpeners that are assigned to you.  You may get up to get materials, to sharpen your pencil or to throw away trash without asking permission.

8.  Raise your hand or come to Ms. Richards if you need help.

9.  You may get your sketchbook from your tubby and work in it, if you finish early.

10.           Clean up 5 minutes before the bell.  You are responsible for your area.

11.           Stand to leave politely when Ms. Richards says "Have a nice day!"
