Black Hawk College Youth Orchestra

New! -Enhance your school music experience by joining the Black Hawk College Youth Orchestra

It is with pleasure that I announce that Black Hawk College, Moline,Illinois, will be hosting the new Black Hawk College Youth Orchestra. If you are currently in your school orchestra program, in a school district that does not have an orchestra program or are studying privately, this is a new and wonderful opportunity for you to play in a quality orchestra.

If you are a stringed instrument player, have had two or more years of instruction and can play in positions higher than first position, you can join the Black Hawk College Youth Orchestra up to grade 12! Black Hawk College Community String Orchestra

 Beginning January 2011!

The new Black Hawk College Community Orchestra offers a string orchestra experience to older students and adults in our community and surrounding areas who possess advancing ability on violin, viola, cello or contrabass. Students age 16 and older have the option to register for college credit. Join us for this fun and exciting opportunity!  A typical program may include: "Hoe Down"  from "Rodeo" - Aaron Copland",  Brandenburg Concerto No. 3" - J. S. Bach, "O Magnum Mysterium for String Orchestra"- Morten Lauridsen, plus others.
