* NO TALKING and getting out of your seat-unless given permission by raising your hand and called upon. * Demonstrate RESPECT at all times for everyone and for all school property. * Each student should keep a math notebook organized by the date. This syllabus is the first item in the notebook. This notebook is the BEST resource for staying organized, being prepared for class and should be used to prepare for assessments. Notebook checks/quizzes will be given throughout the nine-weeks. * Students are expected to attempt all assignments. When working the problems students should always copy the problem, show all work and circle their final answer. The use of ink, incorrect headings, and/or failure to show all work on graded assignments will result in the student receiving an incomplete until the assignment is completed correctly! Papers turned in without a name will not be graded! * Students will submit completed work to the bottom tray and collect graded work from the top tray. These trays are located in the student center. * Students are required to have at least a 15 minute weekly chat with their parents about what they are learning in math. After the chat parents are asked to fill out the Math Chat Log (located in the student's math notebook). This chat is a weekly grade and is due on Fridays. The first MATH CHAT is due on Friday, Aug 7, 2009. * It is the responsibility of each student to get make-up work if they are absent. A "While You Were Out” notebook is kept in the student center for students to collect handouts. Class Rules
