Laps For Lit Day!
Today we will watch the movie "Tangled" and then compare the story to the classic tale of Rupunzel. Clink on this link to read the the story: Rupunzel Story
After you have read the story, you will make a venn diagram graphic organizer from the website "Gliffy" - to get to Gliffy, use this link: Venn diagram
Once you get to Gliffy, go to the bottom right and choose "Venn Diagram Template". You may work on this with a partner or by yourself, but it will be a grade. Your venn diagram should answer the following questions:
1. What are the genres of the stories?
2. How are the events, characters, and settings similar?
3. How are the events, characters, and settings different?
Have fun!

Homework!
1. 3 New Blog posts about your independent reading book due on Monday
2. Complete any missing Holiday Break Book Trailer assignments and/or Lit Circle Final Projects.
3. Read! You need to continue reading at home. Keep up with your reading goals even when we are out of school. Can you finish your book this weekend?
Blogs!
Remember to write 3 Blogs each week. They will be checked in every Monday, so be ready!
These blogs should be responses to your reading. If you get stuck and don't know what to write, check out your "Think Out Loud" reading strategies book mark in your ziplock reading bag.
You can always:
- Make a Prediction
- Ask a question
- Clarify something that didn't make sense before
- Make a connection (to your life, something you have read or seen before, etc...)
- Write a review of the book once you have finished it. Remember don't spoil the book by giving away the ending. Just tell us why you think it was such a good book. Maybe even share some of your favorite quotes.
*Don't just write summaries! If I wanted to know every detail in the book, I would read it myself. Make me think by writing about topics that could start a discussion.
