All About Mrs. Ramsour
Hello! My name is Jessica Ramsour, and I will be your child's Kindergarten teacher this year! I am a Texas girl, born and raised! I was born in Huntsville, Texas and grew up in another small town called Willis, Texas, where I graduated from Willis High School. I then packed my belongings and moved to the GREAT city of Austin, where I attended THE University of Texas (Hook 'Em!)! I received my degree in Applied Learning and Development, with a minor in Spanish.
While at UT, I had the fabulous priviledge of spending a year at Copperfield, one semester as a student intern with a third grade class, and the other as a student teacher in a Kindergarten class. I immediately fell in love with Kindergarten, and could not imagine teaching any other grade! Luckily, as I ended my student teaching ended, a spot opened up on the Kindergarten team I student taught with, and I was hired on! This will be my fourth year teaching, as well as my third year as the Kindergarten Team Leader on our campus, which is such an honor!
While at UT, I also met my wonderful husband, Bill, who was studying to become an Electrial Engineer at the time. He now works for IBM. We got married in April of 2005. About 6 months after that we became home owners in the wonderful city of Pflugerville, which is where we currently live. We have two rescue dogs - Peanut and Anya - who are both huge and both think they're lap dogs.
I took on a new role as Mommy this past May when our little boy, Isaac was born. I feel that being a teacher has prepared me for being a mother in so many ways. The amount of love I feel for one person is incredible! He is truely our pride and joy. :)
I absolutely love children and love teaching....here's to a wonderful year getting to know each other!! If you ever have any questions or concerns, PLEASE feel free to let me know!
