1.    adventurers – travelers in search of unusual or exciting places

2.    determined – sticking to a purpose

3.    frontier – unexplored land

4.    gear – equipment used for a specific activity

5.    opportunity – a good chance

6.    pioneer – people who are first to settle in a region

7.    settlers – people who travel to a little known area to make a home

8.    tanned – changed animal hide to leather by soaking it in chemicals

9.    wranglers - cowboys

10.  territory – a region or area of land
