Grade 7 uses two separate books: New Testament and Liturgy and Worship.

New Testament is used on Tuesdays and Wednesdays when the students meet in single-gender religion classes.  This book helps us to look at the New Testament and Jesus more deeply and in a more sophisticated way.  We will continue to work on chapter 3 this week.  This chapter explores more about the truths of faith found in the New Testament as well as the literary forms that were used to write it.

Liturgy and Worship, used on Mondays and Fridays, covers Eucharist (in the form of the mass) and the other sacraments in a way that the students have not yet experienced.   We will continue to work on Chapter 3 that covers sacraments in general.

The students have been assigned a saint project in a format with which they are already familiar.  Each student will be assigned a saint.  A card with some information will be provided.  In addition, the student needs to do more research.  An oral presentation will be given as a Five-in-a-Bag for the saint.  A paper outlining this assignment was sent home on Wednesday, October 21, as well as the card with the saint.  The paper each student receives will indicate on which day the presentation will be made.  Those dates will be either November 2 or November 6.  The students thave been instructed to ask me questions about this project if they have any.
