I am pleased to take this opportunity to welcome you and your child to the fifth grade. I believe a good learning experience is built upon a cooperative effort among parents, child, and teacher. I look forward to the work and growth we will all accomplish this school year. 

        Let me take the time to introduce myself. My name is Paul Anthony Barnes. I graduated from Hillcrest High School in Sumter, SC. I attended the University of South Carolina and received a minor in Music Education. I later moved to Gulfport and attended the University of Southern Mississippi where I graduated with a Bachelor's Degree in Elementary Education. I have been teaching for nine wonderful years, and now I await the challenges and adventures that will make my tenth year just as memorable.

           I enjoy traveling, reading, listening to music, going to the movies, and collecting comic books and figures. I come from an outstanding, largely extended family that I do not know what I would do if I did not have every last one of them in my life. I love teaching the fifth grade at Bayou View Elementary School, and I cannot wait to share my knowledge of the wonderful world of grammar and writing.
