Fourth Nine Weeks

Students assigned to my skills class during the fourth nine weeks will spend the majority of their class time working on explorations in mathematics.
Reading Assignments
Students are required to read at home for 30 minutes five times each week. They will fill out their reading log as they finish reading. On Tuesday, a parent/guardian must sign the reading log to verify that the student has completed the assigned reading. Reading logs will be collected every Wednesday for grading. Each night of reading is worth 20 points. If a student reads on 6 nights, then a bonus of 5 points is added to the grade. If the student reads on all seven nights, a bonus of 15 points is added to the grade.
Accelerated Reader Tests
The students are requried to pass four Accelerated Reader Tests. A passing score for an Accelerated Reader Test is 85%. A student may take more than four Accelerated Reader Tests. The four highest scores will be used toward the student's grade.
