All About Me
Through my educational career, I found that I really enjoyed being involved with several school activities. These later helped me discover my love for teaching. As a trumpet player, I gave younger children lessons before and after school and found a sense of patience I never new existed. This musical talent turned into a hobby that I simply enjoyed while performing for and coaching others. Near the end of high school, I realized I wanted to be more involved with children and participated in a school-coop program where I became a teacher’s aide at a local day-care center. After creating lessons, communicating with parents, and chaperoning events successfully, I knew my instincts of becoming a teacher were natural. To continue with this path, my college career sent me on an upward trail where knowledge about the teaching profession kept getting more interesting and my intuition for becoming a teacher grew stronger.
Over the years, I have also found that being well-rounded is important and therefore I invest time to enjoy my many hobbies. With spare time, my husband Tim and I like to go scuba-diving, white-water-rafting, and snow-skiing. These activities allow us to spend time with our family members and friends while having a little fun. The life-long learner in me always wants to discover something innovative.
I believe as I continue to grow as an individual through experiences, my career as an educator will benefit my future co-workers and students. I look forward to teaching my students to be life-long learners as a teacher once did for me.
On A Personal Level:
My husband and I have two dogs, Maggie-Rose and Hallie. Maggie is a 4 pound Pomeranian and Hallie is a 55 pound Dalmation, and both are wonderful house pets. They truly believe they are human! We recently moved into a little bigger house because we are expecting our first child in January (2010), and anxiously awaiting the discovery of gender in the near future.
