A FEW SHORT MESSAGES:

The Race for Education was a lot of fun for all!

Both our Star families chose stories from If you Give a... series. We loved them both. Thanks to Haley's mom and Adrien's sister for reading them. We enjoyed meeting both families.

I'm not sending homework binders home this week. Any homework can be found in their folder.

Word card boxes will be coming home on Wed. Study all words and return it next Monday.

You should see our 2 turkeys! Their feathers are gorgeous. Everyone did a wonderful job !! I will leave them up so you can see them at conference time.

If you haven't already, please stop by the office and sign up for a conference. It's always good to touch base after the first trimester.

We continue to collect change for the school in Colombia,South America.

Closer to home, Mrs. Isom is on a mission to have KB in the running for the class bringing in the most boxtops. Please keep clipping them out and send them in.

Please, please, please double knot shoes. Thanks so much!

Please send your child in appropriate jackets for the weather. Also, have them practice zipping and buttoning.

A new month is here and a new behavior chart begins - class rules will be strictly enforced.

Now that we have a number  of sight words please take time to practice them every night until your child knows them. The words are: I,a, the, my, that ,and, is, said. "said" is giving a number of them trouble. We have added the number words zero through ten to our word card box.

Please encourage your child to print their name NEATLY on their homework and everything they do.

Please feel free to send a water bottle with your child if you'd rather they didn't drink from the water fountain.

If your child is sick you may request their work be sent home through another child in the school or sent upstairs at dismissal to be picked-up. If books are sent home please complete the work and send them back with your child when the child returns.

Don't forget spoons in lunches for pudding, fruit etc. Thanks to all the parents that sent our class boxes and bags of spoons. They come in very handy! Your child also needs a towel in their lunch box every day.

Have your child go to the bathroom before coming to school.

I look forward to seeing everyone Monday morningLaughing
