Donations
We are in need of Lysol spray for the classroom, due to the flu/cold season approaching. Also, we are looking for donations for class room equipment such as, volleyballs, kick balls, jump ropes, etc.
General Information
By the time students exit this class they should have a greater understanding of what health means and should a greater appreciation for maintaining a healthy body and mind.
Goals
The goals for this semester is for the students to learn and understand more about their personal health, mental health, social health and physical health.
We will be exploring many topics some which include, the skelatal system, dietary guidelines of healthy living, mental disorders, understanding the media's influence, sex education, peer pressure, saying no to drugs, and tobacco,etc......
Important Information
Since this is one of your child's elective courses, do not expect much homework to be brought home. In class, we have many group discussions that reinforce the topics at hand.
Upon students return we will be discussing sex education. I have sent home a letter regarding this matter. If you do not wish your child to participate in these discussions, please email me or send a letter with your child exempting them.
