New Staff

This season we will be welcoming new coaches to our staff. Our new head coach is Scott Barwidi and also joining us is Brent Nenadal. Both are joining us with previous coaching experience at Maple Heights and Berkshire, respectively. In addition Ray Rateno will be coaching the Throwers. The remainder of the staff will consist of Ron Gura-Pole Vault & High Jump, Ranzy Lardell-Sprints & Long Jump and Jessica Skubec-Hurdles & Sprints.

First Day of Outdoor Practice

The first practice for the 2009 season is March 9, 2009. Coming soon will be the meet and practice schedule.

Coach Barwidi Bio

Coach Barwidi joins the track program this year as the Head Coach. This will be his fourth season as a Head Coach. He previously spent  three seasons as the HC at Maple Heights where he guided his girls team to two consecutive Lake Erie League Championships and two Coach of the Year awards. He also has coached football for 8 seasons at Maple Hts., Beachwood and Nordonia. He also has coached 8th and 9th grade basketball for seven years. He received his Bachelor's Degree from Baldwin-Wallace College in 2000.

Coach Gura Bio

Coach Gura continues in the Track Program after stepping down as the Head Coach last season. He will be an assitant this year working with the Pole Vault and High Jump. His coaching experience includes seven years as the Head Coach at Nordonia and ten years overall. He has also assisted with T&F at Mayfield for ten seasons and one additional year at Twinsburg. He also was a decathlete at Edinboro University.

Coach Nenadal Bio

Coach Nenadal join the T&F program for his first season at Nordonia. He comes with an abundance of experience. Previously he was the Head Coach at Berkshire High School for 3 seasons, and HC for the middle school the 4 seasons prior to that. He also coached Cross Country at Berkshir for 7 years. In addition he ran in high school for Twinsburg and the University of Findlay. He also has been a registered official for USA Track and Field for seven years. He will coach the Throwers this season.

Coach Lardell Bio

Coach Lardell returns for his 11th year at Nordonia. He will coach the sprinters and long jumpers. His successes include coaching a State Runner-up in the long jump and multiple league champs in the sprints and long jump. He teaches PE and Health at Nordonia. 

 

Coach Skubic Bio

Coach Jessica Skubic returns to the staff for her second season after running sprints for the Knights. Coach Skubic has also coached some basketball for the MBA and also at various youth camps. Currently she is enrolled at Kent St. University studying Physical Education with a minor in Health Education. She will coach the sprinters and hurdlers this season.

Coach Chuhay Bio

Coach Chuhay returns to the program as the distance coach this season. He has collegiate experience at Tri-C and Notre Dame College. He has four years of coaching experience, three at Nordonia and one at Notre Dame. In addition he is a Level 1 USA Track & Field Certified Coach, Jump Stretch Flex Band Instructor, and National Strength and Conditioning Association (NSCA-CPT, *D) Certified Personal Trainer. Coach Chuhay also is the assistant Cross Country coach.
