Things YOU, as a student can do to stop Global Warming and/or clean up your environment.
GREEN IS COOL!
1. Replace your lightbulbs with compact fluorescent bulbs. It's expensive at first, but will save your family money in the long run. It will save about 300 pounds of carbon dioxide a year! Be careful if they break, high levels of mercury! use a glove and have an adult clean it up safely.
2. Move your thermostat [ask peermission first!] 2 degrees down in the winter and 2 degrees up in the summer. You could save about 2,000 pounds of carbon dioxide a year by doing this.
Have your parents clean or replace the filters on your furnace and air conditioners. This can save 350 pounds of carbon dioxide per year.
3. Tell your parents to buy only appliances that have the energy star label on it.
4. Take a shower instead of a bath. It takes a lot of energy to heat water!
5. Recycle when you can! Some people can save 2,400 pounds of carbon dioxide by recycling.

10.Turn off your X-box. Playstation etc. when you are not using them This saves a lot of energy and your parents electricity bill will go down!
