Who am I?
Hi - I am the Social Worker in the Eugene Brooks Intermediate School. I have been at Webutuck for 25 years (19 of them working for Astor Child Guidance). During that time I have been privileged to work with students and their families individually, in groups, through Social Skills Groups, and in Banana Splits.
I think the role of the Social Worker is to reduce and hopefully eliminate social, emotional and even environmental barriers to learning, to help children deal with difficulties in their lives and to better cope with the many issues that affect their success in school. Children, their parents and teachers need to know there is a caring, supportive resourse in the school available to help them deal with behavioral, emotional and social difficulties. I am one, of many, of those people!
