MONDAY

Students will define entrepreneurship in a concise way that has meaning for them. Students will define basic business terms. |
The instructor will read the bios of various youth entrepreneurs from CEO magazine Students will read and discuss pages 1-7 Students will read and discuss each business term and the instructor will give examples to clarify the definitions.

Students will list 3-5 things they can implement in their business life
Students will demonstrate mastery of business Terms through a matching quiz.

TUESDAY

Students will distinguish between the 4 categories of business |
Instruction: Before choosing a business you must know what category it will fit into. This helps determine what business you really want to be in. Students will read chapter three of the text and obtain a good grasp of the categories of service, manufacturing, wholesale, and retail businesses |
Students will work in teams of 2 and identify Examples of each category of business. They will hypothesize a type of business they might form and define which category it falls in to. Students will complete checkpoint one on page 20 as they continue in their hypothetical Business journey with their team member. |

WEDNESDAY

Students will relate the basic requirements needed for a successful business

Students will read and discuss “Before You Get Started , pgs 21-26 |
Students will list 3-5 things they will implement from this chapter in their life or in their future business venture. |

THURSDAY
|
Students will develop a business idea for an entrepreneurial venture. |
Students will read over 200 different business ideas on pages 31-34 with their business partner |
Each business team will discuss which Entrepreneurial venture they will choose from the list of 200, or they may select a completely separate idea to explore for a simulated business. Each team will name their business and refer back to the requirements needed for a successful business from Wednesday’s instruction. Students will complete information that pertains to their business from those listed requirements. |

FRIDAY
|
Students will complete the basic components of a business plan |
Students will read and discuss chapter IX, Kandi’s Quick Business Plan. Pgs. 105-121. |
Students will begin to form a business plan for their simulated business based on the structure provided in chapter 9. |
