Registration Paperwork and Fees
Please complete the registration paperwork and send the $25 registration fee to school as soon as possible. The paperwork and fees should be given to the student's homeroom teacher.
Pictures of America
On Friday, September 9th we will be making collages in class. The collages will be representative of America. If you have any pictures/magazines that you are willing to part with please send them to school. We will be cutting the pictures out and gluing them to paper, so you will not get them back. Thank you for your help :)
School Attendance
Please help your child be successful in school by making sure they are at school. There are new truency guidelines this year. Please make sure you are familiar with these.
Colonial Day (9-23-11)
On Friday, September 23 my classes will have Colonial Day. We will be going outside and participating in a variety of activities such as games, crafts, and cooking. I need some help pulling this off. If you are available to help please let me know. I will provide all of the necessary supplies. What I need the parents to do is to explain the activity to each group of students that rotates through and to monitor things at your assigned station. Make-a-Wish
This week BMS is having Money Wars in order to raise money for Make-a-Wish. Each day has a theme and prize for the winning homeroom class. The schedule is listed below:
Monday- Popcorn for Pennies
Tuesday- Nachos for Nickels
Wednesday- Doughnuts for Dimes
Thursday- Candy for Quarters
Friday- Pizza for Paper
Please check the couch cushions, cup holders in your car and piggy banks for any loose change you might have. This is for a wonderful cause and we appreciate any help you can give. Thanks :)
Food Drive
The GEMS and PEARLS are sponsoring a food drive beginning Tuesday, October 18th and ending Tuesday, October 25. This food drive is going to help supply the snack packs that are given out to Tipton County students. In order to get a variety of food we are asking the homerooms on each hall to bring in specific items.
BLUE HALL- Nutri Grain Bars, Fruit Cups and Individually Packaged Juice Boxes
GREEN HALL- Granola Bars, Peanut Butter Crackers and Individually Packaged Juice Boxes
PURPLE HALL- Fruit Snacks, Breakfast Bars and Individually Packaged Juice Boxes
RED HALL- Pudding Cups, 100 Calorie Snacks and Individually Packaged Juice Boxes
The homeroom that brings in the most items will win a free breakfast. Please encourage your class to participate.
Veteran's Day
On Veteran's Day we are going to honor our former and current military. If you know any current military folks or veterans please send me their name, address and some general info about what the do/did in the military. You can send me this info via e-mail. Highlighters
We could use some extra highlighters in our classroom. If anyone is able to send some in we would really appreciate it! Thank you :)
Relay for Life Feet
The BMS GEMS and PEARLS will be selling Relay for Life feet for $1 the week of April 2nd. The feet can be purchased in honor or memory of someone who has battled cancer. All of the money raised will go to support the American Cancer Society's effort to help research cancer treatment and to support people as they battle cancer.
The Tipton County Relay for Life event will be May 11, 2012 at Cobb Parr Park in Covington.
