1st Quarter

In social studies this first quarter, we have just finished up our introductory geography unit.  Students learned the basics of maps, latitude and longitude, compasses, hemispheres, and continents and oceans.  And they even got to create their own "ancient" map for their first project!  Students will be learning about the Ice Age and Stone Age next, followed quickly by the first civilization - Mesopotamia (present day Middle East).  On Fridays, we partner with Language Arts to learn about current events and what is happening in the news today.
