Director of Student Services and Athletic Director
To: Families of Madison High School Students,
Although many of you may already know me, I want to introduce myself and my new role. My name is Karen Missey. I am a 1980 graduate of McKendree College with a B.S. in Physical Education. I completed my Masters in Elementary Education from SIUE. I have served 14 years with Madison School District #12. I began as the Girls’ Physical Education teacher. In March of 2004, I also assumed the position of Athletic Director. In addition to teaching, I’ve been active as a registered IHSA Volleyball official for 31 years. This past December, I received my Administration Certification from SIUE. This year I’ve accepted the position of Director of Student Services/Athletic Director. I’m certain this position will allow me opportunities to serve the students throughout our district. My responsibilities as the Director of Student Services include administering standardized tests, class scheduling, and assisting students with their 4-year academic plan. Through this position, I will equip students to attain their personal post-graduation goals whether they pursue college, trade school, and/or enter the work force. My goal is to guide our students on paths of success in academics, athletics, and overall citizenship. I’m proud to be a member of the Madison School District #12 team. I am looking forward to a productive and successful year. Please feel free to contact me by email, kmissey@madison.k12.il.us or by phone, (618) 876-7010 ext. 4420.
