 Chapter 2     "Early Civilizations"    

• Mesopotamia, Babylonia, Assyria, Hebrews, Phoenicians & Lydians
• New groups called "City States" have been formed and the introduction of the project will be this week.  Parents should sign rubric and send back to school by Wednesday, 11/4.
• For the  "Sumerian School" project your child will need a palm size, 1/2 inch thick piece of air-drying clay.  The best colors are tan, terra, or white and you may purchase this at Michael's or any craft store.   They may choose to buy together and split the clay; this is actually cheaper.  The clay should be in the classroom on Monday 11/16.  Thank you for your support.
• This week and next we will be gathering knowledge and learning how to work efficiently together, so that we will be successful at the Sumerian School.

 11/3 Read pp. 40-42 and be able to explain the concepts of religion and government

11/4 Read pp. 43-47

11/5 Create 2 "Baseball" cards, 1 for Gilgamesh and 1 for Sargon
